God Save the Drama Queen:
Král*ovna
Who are Elizabeth and Mary today? The Queen uses the tragic story of two female rulers as a starting point for a discussion about women in power. It asks what a woman must go through, not only to gain power, but also to maintain it. It tells a story of rivalry, but also of hidden kinship. It talks about objectification and systemic pressure, and transports the audience into an absurd election game show.
Queen* is an original production that combines theatrical improvisation with other theatrical forms, giving the audience the opportunity to enter the action, contribute their own opinions, and influence the final form of the production.
Women Leaders – Post-Performance Discussion on May 11
The God Save The Drama Queen theater troupe and the Drama Queen podcast have had nothing in common until now. But that will change on May 11, 2026, following the performance of *Queen*! The show will be followed by a discussion exploring the themes of the production, moderated by Drama Queen creator Marta Hermannová.
What is it like to be a woman in a leadership position? What prejudices must women leaders fight against? What obstacles do they have to overcome? Who can serve as a role model for them in leading a group? Are “male” and “female” leadership styles different in any way? And why do terms like “sissy” or “man in a skirt” still exist?
The discussion will feature the following guests:
- the play’s authors, Král*ovna, Alžběta Nováková and Pavla Vítek Sedláčková
- theater and opera director Veronika Kos Loulová
- STAN MP Barbora Urbanová
You can look forward to a discussion full of shared experiences, breaking taboos, and your curious questions!
