God Save the Drama Queen:
Král*ovna

premiere theatre Sold out
Fri 10 04, 19:00
In 1587, the conflict between the two queens culminated in the execution of Mary Stuart. Her cousin, Elizabeth I, had no other choice. Executing her rival meant saving her own neck and her place in power.

Who are Elizabeth and Mary today? The Queen uses the tragic story of two female rulers as a starting point for a discussion about women in power. It asks what a woman must go through, not only to gain power, but also to maintain it. It tells a story of rivalry, but also of hidden kinship. It talks about objectification and systemic pressure, and transports the audience into an absurd election game show.

Queen* is an original production that combines theatrical improvisation with other theatrical forms, giving the audience the opportunity to enter the action, contribute their own opinions, and influence the final form of the production.
