David Duchovny
David has spent the last decade gradually building his musical career. Throughout this time, he has collaborated with a small, dedicated group of musicians and friends. On his upcoming fourth album, *Prince of Pieces*, these long-standing relationships have come together to create his most cohesive and intimate work to date.
*Prince of Pieces* follows the albums *Highwater*, *Every Third Thought* (2017), and *Gestureland* (2021). Duchovny’s previous work has earned critical acclaim—Allmusic described his music as “evocative country-folk with a touch of alt-rock in the vein of Wilco and The Wallflowers,” while the Boston Globe praised Duchovny’s voice, noting that “he sings with a gentle rasp. It comes across as quite sincere.”
“The song arrangements have always been in the service of the groove or the emotion,” says Duchovny. “It’s on a case-by-case basis. I like to try to find sounds that fill the space above the melody, such as brass, bells, or harmonies, while also trying to find or inspire cool beats.”
