Agnes Obel has carved out a unique position on the global music scene thanks to her distinctive blend of neoclassical, alternative pop, subtle electronica, and melancholic songwriting. Her debut album Philharmonics and follow-up album Aventine achieved platinum status and established her as an artist who can appeal to a wide audience without compromising her artistic depth. Characteristic elements of her work include piano compositions, layered vocals, and an emphasis on space, silence, and emotion.

A major milestone in her career was the album Citizen of Glass (2016), which expanded her soundscape with experimental electronics and unconventional instruments. The follow-up album Myopia (2020), created entirely in her home studio in Berlin, confirmed Agnes Obel as a fully confident author and producer. Her music regularly appears in films, series, and games — from True Detective to The Last of Us to Dark Souls III.
