Tim O'Brien is a renowned musician with a fifty-year career who made his name as the founder of the band Hot Rize, songwriter for Garth Brooks, Nickel Creek, and The Chicks, and collaborator with artists such as Mark Knopfler, Steve Martin, Sturgill Simpson, and Steve Earle. In 2025, he released a joint album, Paper Flowers, with his wife Jan Fabricius.

"Tim is one of the absolute best in American acoustic music. We played his songs back in the 1990s and have long wanted to collaborate with him. Now it's finally happened at the right time. For fans, this will be a unique opportunity to experience live the connection between two musical worlds that have long inspired each other," adds Luboš Malina.

Druhá tráva has been a recognized pillar of acoustic, folk, and Americana music on the Czech music scene since its inception in 1991. During its career, it has released over 19 albums in the Czech Republic and the US and has won over foreign audiences with regular concerts overseas, including tours in the US, where it has played as both a guest and headliner. Collaborations with prominent foreign musicians such as Peter Rowan, Charlie McCoy, and Tony Trischka testify to its respect for the roots of American music. The collaboration with Tim O'Brien is a natural continuation of its long-standing interest in American acoustic music and represents another significant step in the band's history.
