Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Post-rock titans Godspeed You! Black Emperor will bring their new album to ARCHY+ on March 12, along with a ray of hope in difficult times.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor's latest album is "NO TITLE AS OF 13 FEBRUARY 2024 28,340 DEAD," which follows up on 2021's "G_d's Pee AT STATE'S END!" The band returned to the scene after a long hiatus that lasted from 2003 with the impressive album Luciferian Towers (2017) – and they haven't slowed down since. "In a world where you don't know the day or the hour, every song could be the last. And every concert could be the final one. It's all about one thing. Our side has to win!"

The group of musicians, who stubbornly – and, it must be said, successfully – resist simple categorization, was founded in Montreal in 1994 by Efrim Menuck, Mike Moya, and Mauro Pezzente, around whom circulated a large and relatively changeable group of musicians. “Anyone who was OK as a person and could play something was in the band,” Menuck recalls of the early days: “The plan was to have as many people as possible so that the music would always change – just like the lineup.”
