KICK-OFF VOL. II: FOTO WORKSHOP

Pavel Hejný, co-founder of DEKKADANCERS and photographer, is the recipient of several prestigious awards in the field of photography and creative work (Czech Press Photo, Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, Golden Drum, ANDY Awards, MIFA). He is the only Czech to have won the prestigious Lucie Award, which he received at Carnegie Hall in New York. Lürzer's Archive magazine ranked him among the top 200 advertising photographers in the world. A trained set designer, he loves theater and enjoys creating artistic projects. For many years, he worked as a photographer for the National Theater Ballet in Prague. It was there that he met Tomáš Rychetský and Viktor Konvalinka, who invited him to co-found DEKKADANCERS. He has been collaborating with the Jatka78 theater and the directing duo SKUTR for many years. He says that if he hadn't become a photographer, he would definitely be doing something useful.

Program of the workshop

• September 23, 2025 (Jatka78)

Introductory meeting with Pavel Hejný, presentation of his work and approaches to photographing movement. You will then have a unique opportunity to photograph the dress rehearsal of the DEKKADANCERS full-length performance La Dolce Vita directly on the stage of the Jatka78 theater.

• September 24, 2025 (ARCHY+ rehearsal space at Na Košince in Prague 8)

Practical part at the ARCHY+ space, where participants will try out various photography techniques with two professional dancers under the guidance of an instructor. At the end, there will be time for presentation and feedback on your photographs.
