ARCHA+/Divadlo NIE: One and One and One (EN)
In spring 2024, 22 young artists met with the ensemble of the NIE Theatre in the ARCHA+ space to capture the pulse of the present and the society they live in.
Our dreams give us meaning and inner fire, propelling us forward and inspiring us to strive for something beyond ourselves. But intertwined with our dreams are our deepest fears - fear of failure, rejection and loss. Fear of the future.
We each face many uncertainties, but together we can overcome and embrace them. The first step is sharing and opening up together about difficult topics. During the rehearsal process, we were able to connect with each other and discovered that sometimes all it takes is a little - throwing a tennis ball, running from one end of the room to the other, sitting, walking, standing together.
We are often faced with the decision of whether we can say the things that are dormant in us out loud, or if we should keep them to ourselves. But time spent together with people who are willing to listen can help us decide.
When we are separated into one person and one person, it is possible to create a place where we can be together.
Duration: 75 minutes + discussion (20 min)

CW/TW: The play explores difficult themes, including the issue of sexual harassment.
The school performance is followed by a discussion with the creators.

The project was created in collaboration with the ensemble of Theatre NIE, one of the most critically acclaimed international theatres today, which is mainly dedicated to work for youth and adults. Theatre NIE combines physical theatre, a mixture of languages, live music, storytelling and brings together artists from the Czech Republic, Norway and other European countries in its productions.
