POCKETART: The Lion Pit Unlimited

dance
An electrifying dance duet in which fun suddenly turns to darkness and back again. "Who manipulates and who just follows? What role do social networks and media play in this?"

Media, manipulation, social networks. The challenges of today - for young people, an absolutely inseparable part of life. How do young people work with media content? How does it translate into how they move? What gestures influence them and who leads and who follows in our world? A captivating duet of dancers who tell a story not only about how fun can easily turn dark and back again. The performance is accompanied live by a DJ. A moderated discussion follows, ending with a collaborative dance party.

With respect for children as active partners in the creation, Sabina Bočková and Johana Pocková adapted the original production Pit of Lions as part of the European project Shape It for young audiences. Encountering the resulting shape is a unique chance to approach the topic of ubiquitous media content in a different way than through the screen of a phone. And perhaps an opportunity to get closer to the world view of your own children.
